Significance of Tulsi Vivah:
Tulsi Vivah is the celestial marriage of Sri Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu with the Tulsi plant (holy basil), considered to be an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. The meaning of the word marriage is the merging and oneness of the embodied soul (jīva) with God. Tulsi Vivah is widely celebrated across different cultures in many parts of India. There are many materialistic and spiritual benefits of performing Tulsi Vivah - brings happiness, prosperity and wealth, helps one to overcome any obstacles and misfortunes.
Sampradhaya Bhajans: This 300 year old tradition was formulated mainly by the efforts of great saints, Bodhendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Sridhara Ayyaval and Marudhanallur Sadguru Swamigal. This padhdhati (approach) consists of structure to the Sampradhaya bhajans which includes songs dedicated to various Gods, from various Indian languages (Hindi, Marati, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil etc) and various composers (Saints: Thyagaraja, Meera, Kabir, Purandhara Dasa, Muthuswamy Deekshidar, Outukadu Venkata kavi to name a few). There is generally a lead singer, with accompaniment of instruments like harmonium, Mridangam, Jalra etc, and the devotees actively participate by repeating the bhajans.
